Happy New Year

Wow...it's hard to believe 2008 is already here.  The past couple of months have been a whirlwind for us and it feels like 2008 took 2007's place without us even knowing!  Yet it is here and I'm glad...I like the new year with a fresh start.

So many thoughts race through my mind when I think of 2007 it's hard to grasp them quick enough to really reflect on them.  I think more than anything I continue to be amazed at how much God has lead us through and how much farther I still need to go.  The closer I grow to Christ the more amazed at how deep my depravity runs...and at how unwavering His grace truly is.

So...my areas of focus for 2008 are...

  • Conviction (belief that defines action)
  • Commitment (definition by attachment)
  • Courage (internal fortitude)
  • Charity (love in motion)

How about you...what are your "words" for 2008?

Ted-
Long time…Happy New Year.

Three things on this comment. First off, congratulations on adoption! That is awesome and so exciting. I read some of the adoption blog. What a story. I look forward to hearing/reading more.

Second, you’re reading one of my favorite books ever, Connecting. I could read that every year and benefit from it. I’d love to hear your thoughts. It captures so much of my heart for people and what I want people to see and experience from God, from life, and from me.

Third, have you read The Shack yet? If not, go buy it and start it. You’ll be done with it by evening the next day. But don’t ask anyone about it. The less you know the better. Check it out at theshackbook.com.
