"Our desire to know more, read more and study more can be another expression of our culture an its acquisitive nature. Knowing God, not knowing more, is the goal."
- Richard Rohr
This thought echo's in deep place within my soul. I made a trip today to the local bookstore and left feeling...I don't know...defeated. So much stuff, and yet no significant transformation. I don't mean to sound sour, I realize this more of myself than anyone else. I know more now than last year, but is the world around me any better for the increase? I wonder if it's not safer to know "about God" than it is God Himself because encounters with God lead to conviction of how misguide our hearts are in contrast to His.
